Police Marine Unit Pulls Body from the Schuylkill

No identity has been released.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the marine unit recovered a body from the Schuylkill River Friday afternoon.

No identity has been released, though lieutenant John Stanford in the department’s public affairs office says the body of a white male was pulled from the river near the Walnut Street bridge.

The Daily News reports that this is the fourth person pulled from the river in three weeks. As to whether it could be a Bucks County teen who leapt from the Market Street bridge while evading Amtrak security, a department spokesperson tells the paper, somewhat confusingly:

“It would be foolish to not think it couldn’t be that gentleman … but we can’t confirm anything for sure.”
