New Gay Movies You Can Stream Right Now on Netflix
What better way to kick off LGBT History Month than with a marathon of good gay flicks. But before you say, “I’ve already seen them all!,” consider some of these fresh additions to Netflix’s DVD rental and instant-streaming lineups.
Newbies include Stephen Cone’s The Wise Kids, an engaging drama about three teens coming of age in a tight-knit Baptist community; Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean, a fan favorite at last year’s QFest that takes a peek at a very gay moment in the Hollywood heartthrob’s too-short life; and Yossi, the sequel to 2002’s über-provocative Yossi & Jagger.

Elliot Loves: “From the creative mind of director Terracino comes this wildly entertaining tale about wide-eyed Elliot, a young gay man seen as both an inquisitive 10-year-old boy and an idealistic 21-year-old searching for love in all the wrong places.”

I Killed My Mother: “This semi-autobiographical drama chronicles the caustic relationship between gay teenager Hubert and his overburdened mother Chantale, who grapple with the notion that although they can’t seem to live together, they’re not sure they can live apart.”
Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean: “Dreamlike vignettes blend biographical and fictionalized elements to present pivotal moments in James Dean’s short yet remarkable life, focusing on his experiences as a rising star in Los Angeles circa 1951.”

The Men Next Door: “As he reluctantly celebrates his 40th birthday, Doug finds himself falling for two very different but equally lovable men. But what Doug doesn’t know right away is that the two men are, in fact, father and son.”
White Frog: “Nick, who has Asperger’s syndrome, struggles to carry on after the death of his brother Chaz. Their parents have their own problems coping with the loss, but Chaz’s best friend takes Nick under his wing.”

Yossi: “While driving through a remote part of Israel, a closeted gay doctor crosses paths with a group of soldiers who inspire him to live life in the open. Ohad Knoller reprises the title role in this sequel to Yossi & Jagger.”
