Cleveland Kidnapper Ariel Castro Commits Suicide

Ariel Castro held three women captive in his Cleveland home for almost ten years. Today, he is dead, apparently due to suicide. Prison employees found Castro, 53, hanging in his cell on Tuesday.

According to a spokesperson for Ohio’s Department of Corrections, Castro was not on suicide watch but was in protective custody, supposedly checked by guards twice an hour.

On August 1, Castro was sentenced to life in prison plus a millennium, for dramatic effect. He pleaded guilty to nearly 1,000 counts, which included rape and kidnapping. Good riddance.
