Hollywood Is Already Working on a Boston Bombing Movie

Today in the “too soon” department, Hollywood has already started working on a film based on the Boston Marathon bombings. It’s been only 85 days — not even three months — since the Tsarnaev brothers attacked the Marathon crowd with homemade bombs, but Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (the duo behind The Fighter) are apparently already up to speed. In fact, they secured themselves film rights to Boston Strong, a book about the bombings that has yet to be published — so, you know, they’re super-ready. For comparison, 9/11-based films didn’t really start coming out until 2005 or 2006, with United 93, World Trade Center and, later, Reign Over Me. Funny how that turnaround works nowadays. [Philly.com]
