Gladwyne Campbell’s Soup Mansion for Sale…For An Enormous Amount of Money

Linden Hill, the Gladwyne mansion that once belonged to Campbell’s soup heir John T. Dorrance, is up for sale. (It’s no coincidence that it opened the week the U.S. Open began in Ardmore.) Asking price? $24.5 million. According to the Inky, there are at least two homes in the area still selling for more, including the manse of another legendary Main Liner, Col. Robert Montgomery.

Specs: “14,000 square foot, 20-room French Norman-style manor house, formal gardens, orchards, two heated pools, a pool house and tennis court.” This is the second time since Dorrance’s death in 1989 that the property has been sold. The current owner bought the joint for $9.3 million in 1999. [Inquirer]
