Catholic Church Deathwatch: Archdiocese Consolidating 27 Parishes in Philly Area


As if one-upping the school district for the title of ‘most defunct city institution,’ the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has announced plans to merge 27 of its parishes located in Philly and Delaware County. As with the 23 schools being shuttered, the consolidation is taking place largely because of underuse and lack of funds.
