Brian Sims to Hold Town Hall Meeting Tonight

A timely opportunity to bring questions about all the exciting things happening on the LGBT front, both locally and statewide.

State Rep. Brian Sims is holding a Town Hall meeting tonight for residents of the 182nd District. On the agenda for discussion, he says, is everything from SEPTA and the state budget to healthcare and, most relevant to our interests, LGBTQ civil rights.

This is a super timely opportunity to ask the representative any questions you may have about the state of LGBT affairs in our city and state. Two weeks ago, Sims joined fellow lawmakers in Harrisburg to announce support for two important bills making rounds in the House and Senate that would FINALLY ban LGBTQ discrimination statewide in employment, housing, credit and public accommodations. He was also front and center when Mayor Nutter signed Philadelphia’s LGBT Equality Bill on May 9.

The meeting is taking place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 at the Ethical Humanist Society Building at 1906 S. Rittenhouse Square.
