PA Man Heads to White House, Makes Bomb Threat

44-year-old Krzysztof Wasik, of Hazle Township, PA was hanging out by the White House this morning when he decided to make what a appears to be fake bomb threat. He approached an officer outside the gates of the White House, telling him that a bomb was set to detonate in a van parked nearby.

Surrounding streets and the entrance to a nearby Metro subway station were shut down as the Secret Service inspected the vehicle for explosives.

None were found, and Krzys has been arrested and charged with making felony threats. Pro-tip: People trying to blow up the White House in earnest probably don’t announce it to security guards at the White House. Perhaps there was some misunderstanding, in which case he could commiserate with the Liberty Bell bomber guy. [AP]
