Sandy Doesn’t Keep Runners Off the Schuylkill River Trail for Long

Hurricane Sandy couldn’t keep Philly’s runners inside for long as joggers hit the Schuylkill River Trail shortly after the hard rain let up on Tuesday afternoon. The river was a good foot and a half below the retaining wall at most parts and there was little debris, spare for the piles of wet leaves that could act like the oil spots in Paperboy for NES and mess you up as you’re trying to run or bike, so be careful. Mark A. Focht, first deputy commissioner of the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation department, says that the trails aren’t high on the list of priorities because roads require the first attention. So, if you want to get your workout it, make sure you’re careful. [Be Well Philly]
