Philly Cop Charged with Forging Oxycodone Prescriptions

Some Philly cops are continuing to behave badly. Philadelphia Police Officer Andre Lamont Daniels, 41, has been charged with forging a doctor’s name for 14 oxycodone prescriptions between 2009 and 2010. According to a US Attorney’s Office release, Daniels is facing multiple counts of forgery, fraud, and more, and may see a maximum sentence of 56 years in jail. This news comes just a month after patrolman Jonathan Garcia was indicted on robbery charges and accused of dealing heroin. Garcia was suspended for 30 days, but there is no word yet about Daniels’ punishment. [Philly.com]
