On Wednesday afternoon, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey announced that the PPD took a person of interest into custody in the shooting of Officer Moses Walker Jr. The man—23-year-old Rafael Jones—was taken into custody when he didn’t show up for a meeting with his probation officer. Christie Says Akin Should Resign. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie again said that Rep. Todd Akin should resign, not for his comments, but for his beliefs. Christie said the remarks were some of the stupidest he’d ever heard and that he expects Akin to be a non-issue come convention time. [PolitickerNJ]

Adult Present When Kids Beat Woman? Earlier this month, a group of kids allegedly stormed into a woman’s Juniata Park home and beat her with household items before stealing $20. The 10-year-old who’s accused of being part of the group was set to go to trial on Wednesday, but proceedings were postponed because someone alleged there was an adult at the scene. [Daily News]
