Graphic Artist Sues Yuengling Over Oktoberfest Label
A graphic artist from South Jersey has filed a lawsuit against D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc. over the company’s use of a logo the man claims to have developed. The man says that he’s done work for Yuengling before, but that the company stopped using his services after hiring in-house staff. His lawsuit alleges that he designed the label that Yuengling is using to promote its Oktoberfest beer, but that the company has refused to pay him for his work. The artist claims he’s owed $80,000 for his work, but seeks an additional $150,000 and would be entitled to a portion of the profits from the $14 million worth of beer that currently sports his design.
