Man Made Off With $1,000-$2,000 in Bank Robbery at 1818 Market Street
The Republic Bank on the ground floor of 1818 Market Street was robbed on Tuesday afternoon. A Philadelphia Police Department representative says that a suspect—described as a 6’2″ black male in his 40s wearing a white baseball cap and a dark green polo—used a note to demand money. He made off with between $1,000 and $2,000. Signs posted to the glass doors notified customers that the bank was closed as employees spoke with police and filed an official report. We placed multiple calls to Republic Bank’s headquarters but no one was available to comment and messages were not immediately returned.
