Governor Christie Gives Fiscal Experts a Follow the Leader Lesson in Washington

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie spoke to fiscal experts in Washington D.C. on Monday morning. He addressed about 100 people at the Brookings Institution to criticize bureaucratic gridlock at the federal level and suggest that Jersey is an example that should be followed.

Christie, 49, a Republican, criticized gridlock in the federal government, calling it “an excuse of failed leadership” and arguing that politicians in Washington should look to New Jersey for a lesson on how to “get things done.”

He also stressed the importance of honesty in politics.

He added, “If you’re honest with people, then they’ll trust you. If they trust you, they’ll follow you.” [Inquirer]
