This It What It Looks Like When You Set Off 15 Minutes Worth of Fireworks at Once
On the night of July 4, 2012, millions of Americans looked skyward to gawk at loud things and flashy things. But, it seems, all of the festive celebrations paled in comparison to the show put on in San Diego, where an inadvertent signal lit 15 minutes-worth of fireworks at once. Garden State Fireworks—who was contracted for this show, and others across the country—apologized and cited a computer glitch or virus as the cause of the mishap. The show lasted less than 20 seconds and, basically (though we haven’t scientifically confirmed this), could be seen from space. Best fireworks show ever? Best fireworks show ever. Happy belated Fourth of July, you guys. [The Atlantic]
