Jill Scott Gets Her Soul From Philly’s Dirty Water

Last night, a number of prominent musicians from Philly lent their hands and voices to the VH1 DIVAS Celebrates Soul special. Jill Scott, ?uestlove and Adam Blackstone were asked how Philadelphia cultivated such a uniquely soulful musical reputation. Scott said it probably had something to do with the dirty Schuylkill River water. ?uestlove said it probably has something to do with New York City’s shadow. [VH1]
