Corbett Marcellus-Shale Plan Leaves Fees Up to Counties
State to let each county decide on well fees
Governor Tom Corbett has announced that his plan for the controversial use of the Marcellus-Shale for natural gas drilling will include a provision that allows for each individual county to decide on per-well fees to charge drilling corporations. The fees are proposed in addition to higher environmental regulations in an attempt to minimize the negative effects brought on by fracking. [Inquirer]
