Skyler Mornhinweg Commits to Penn State

Prep's quarterback and safety will be a Nittany Lion

Skyler Mornhinweg—son of the Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg—has announced that he will play football at Penn State in 2012. Mornhinweg played both quarterback and safety at St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia’s Class AAAA Catholic League. Tennessee, Alabama, Miami and Illinois had all offered the standout a full scholarship. Mornhinweg had verbally committed to Stanford but re-opened for recruitment after Jim Harbaugh left to take the job at the helm of the San Francisco 49ers. The Scoop says, “WE ARE…looking forward to seeing a local kid play for a team with strong local ties.” [Inquirer]
