Gaga Dresses as Condom

The pop star showed up at Good Morning America dressed in latex for HIV/AIDS awareness

First it was raw meat and then a giant egg. But most recently, Lady Gaga – who’s the talk of the media right now thanks to her creative choice of apparel – wore an homage to prophylactics on Good Morning America. The 24-year-old Grammy winner explained that the outfit symbolizes the fight against HIV and AIDS, a cause that’s close to her heart. The LGBT advocate teamed with MAC Viva Glam again this year to raise awareness and money for AIDS prevention.

“Today was a latex condom-inspired outfit because we’re here to talk about safe sex,” Gaga explained to GMA host Robin Roberts, “so it was quite easy. Today I really wanted to head-to-toe be representative of what we, women, and people all over the world need to be concerned about, which is the leading cause of death in women all over the world – which is HIV.”

Lady Gaga – with MAC – raised $34 million last year for the fight against AIDS. This year, the singer said she would like to raise $50 million. Gaga designed a new lipstick shade that’s now being sold by MAC for $14.50 with 100 percent of proceeds going to Viva Glam’s AIDS fund.

“My mother…she talked to me about sex at a young age,” Gaga explained. “She always taught me to be self aware.”
