Temple Football Player To Enter NFL Draft
This afternoon, Temple University junior defensive tackle Muhammad Wilkerson announced (via Twitter!) that he’ll be leaving the University early and entering the NFL Draft.
This comes just a few weeks after the news that Temple football coach Al Golden — who led the Owls to their first bowl game in 30 years — would be leaving the team to become the head coach at the University of Miami. He was replaced by University of Florida’s loathed offensive coordinator Steve Addazio. (This dude was so hated that hardcore Gator fans created FireSteveAddazio.com, a site dedicated to bashing his every move. The celebratory post announcing his move to Temple is a fun afternoon read.)
Wilkerson, who promised to return to the University to get his degree … eventually, was last year’s defensive MVP. Translation: Steve Addazio’s job just got that much harder. [Broad & Cecil]
