Tuesday Movie Blog: Colin Farrell’s a Catch
Plus Robin Hood with Russell Crowe and the first season of Modern Family released on DVD
Rent It: Robin Hood (R, 2010). If you are a die-hard fan of Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Ridley Scott, or simply of battle movies, then you should check out this not-quite-successful remake of the oft-told story. If none of the above applies to you, well … perhaps it’s time to get caught up on the first season of Modern Family (also being released today, My Grade: A). My Grade: C
Queue It: Ondine (PG-13, 2010). Colin Farrell shines in this modern fairytale as a fisherman who catches a beautiful, young woman (Alicja Bachleda) in his nets. It’s a quiet, lovely film (how could it not be in the continually overcast Ireland?) that is both strange and wonderful. My Grade: B+
