What to Do Tonight

Victor's picks for Thursday: gays, the Axis of Evil, and pirouettes

I know you are going to be so disappointed when I tell you that Henry Rollins has sold out the First Unitarian Church; I can’t even find any tickets on Craigslist. For anti-PC laughs, try Axis of Evil comedian Maz Jobrani, who begins a three night run at Helium (note: cheapest tickets — at $15 — are tonight). And for a gay night out, there’s Atlanta’s Girlyman trio at the World Cafe (though they’ve toured with the Indigo Girls, which is a big ol’ strike against them in my book) and the illustrious, incomparable Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret, which I should probably mention I play the piano in. And while not specifically gay, well, you know what I mean, the Pennsylvania Ballet returns to the Academy of Music with Carmina Burana, coincidentally choreographed by Martha Graham Cracker’s beau, hotshot dancer Matthew Neenan. —Victor Fiorillo
