Brian Sims Hosting PrEP Town Hall at William Way

Brian Sims

As if State Rep Brian Sims could cram in any more into his schedule (besides running for Congress), he’s found some time to team up with Philadelphia FIGHT to present a town hall discussion on PrEP.

PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a pill meant to be taken every day by those who are at high risk of contracting HIV. Studies have shown that the pill, if taken appropriately, is almost 100% effective in preventing HIV.

Sims will be joined by Dr. Helen Koenig, Philadelphia FIGHT’s PrEP Program Medical Director, and Caitlin Conyngham, FIGHT’s Director of PrEP programs, at the William Way Community Center on Thursday, October 29th from 6 to 8 pm. The interactive session is designed for those who are interested in learning more about PrEP, or who have questions about starting the medication. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is free, but FIGHT asks that you RSVP to Mike Marsico at mmarsico@fight.org, or by calling 215-985-4448, x 123.
