South Jersey brewery Flying Fish is bringing a beer garden to the Camden waterfront. The family-friendly Flying Fish Beer Garden will open at Adventure Aquarium just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The beer garden will also be open for the first Sips Undersea of the year — a 21+, after-hours event that gives grownups free reign of the aquarium — on June 27th (you can grab tickets here).

As the only aquarium on the East Coast to exhibit hippos, Adventure Aquarium is celebrating resident hippos Button and Gennie with a monthlong Hippo Festival, including feeding sessions, up-close encounters with the animals, and kids’ activities between June 21st and July 21st. Flying Fish has even brewed a special watermelon-infused wheat beer, Watermelon Splash, inspired by the hippos’ favorite food.

The beer garden comes in advance of two new restaurants that Philly’s Michael Schulson has plans to open in the waterfront’s upcoming development.

The Flying Fish beer garden debuts at Adventure Aquarium on Friday, May 24th. It’ll be open every day through Labor Day, September 2nd.
