Starr Goes Green

Starr Restaurants is partnering with Organic Diversions to establish a composting program at Route 6 and Talula’s Garden with plans to expand the program through all 20 of Starr’s Philadelphia restaurants by summer of 2012.

The program takes all food and paper waste generated by the restaurants and instead of sending it to the landfill, in a few months gardens and farms in the community will benefit.

Route 6 chef Anthony DiRienzo and Talula’s Garden co-owner Aimee Olexy both have experience with composting and look forward to kicking the program off in the Starr organization.
