Do you, like the man in the Pennsylvania Lottery’s Christmas commercial, think that scratch-off lottery tickets are a “great gift”? But are you just too busy to scratch them off? Think of all the time you waste: You have to find a key or a quarter, you have to scratch off the card, and then you might not even win anything for your troubles!

Well, does the Pennsylvania Lottery have a game for you. On Tuesday, the Lottery introduced Fast Play — basically, a scratchless scratch-off ticket.

“Fast Play launch is a milestone in the evolution of the Pennsylvania Lottery,” executive director Drew Svitko told PennLive.

Here’s how it works: When you buy a Fast Play ticket, it’s automatically generated by the self-service kiosk or the lottery terminal. You then simply look at the ticket to see if you’ve won or not. What does this mean for lottery spokes-hog Gus, the second most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania? Will he be out of a job again soon?!

What an age we live in. If the Big 4 was too much for you, there’s now a Pick 2. If scratching off a ticket was too much, now you don’t even have to do that. The advancements of modern technology never cease to amaze.
