Anti-Trump Protest Planned for Center City Tonight

Traffic alert: A protest called March Against Discrimination is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at 4th and Market streets.

A group plans to gather outside the Fox 29 studios at 4th and Market today to protest Donald Trump. The protest will begin at 6 p.m.

The protest is called the March Against Discrimination.

“We will start at Fox 29 (4th and Market Streets) at the local affiliate of Trump’s favorite television station,” the protest website says, “and march down market to City Hall to send a clear message that we won’t allow his vision of America to be the new normal.”

Alert Philadelphia sent out info about the protest earlier today, and warned Center City workers traffic could be snarled as the protest marches up Market from the Fox 29 studios to City Hall. The protest is expected to last about two and a half hours.

“We are taking to the streets to march in opposition to Trump dark and twisted view of America exemplified by his the latest series of discriminatory policies and statements coming from his administration,” reads the protest website.
