If the Big Easy is calling your name (with its beignets, live jazz, and crawfish on demand), Spirit Airlines wants to help you get there with new nonstop flights to the popular Southern destination.

The low-cost carrier announced last week that it will launch flights from Atlantic City International Airport to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport beginning Friday, April 13. Spirit plans to operate four flights per week between the two destinations.

And the announcement comes with some pretty low fares that are still on sale as of Monday morning. Round-trip tickets are going for as low as $131. Travelers looking to take advantage of the low fare should note that while Spirit fares are, on average, much lower than other airlines, the carrier offers unbundled deals. This means options like seat assignments, bags and refreshments will be additional costs.

“Spirit is proud of its strong history at Atlantic City International Airport, and we’re very excited to bring more ultra-low fares to the market,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning. “With this new service to New Orleans, we know more travelers will take advantage of New Jersey’s most convenient airport, whether it’s a spontaneous trip with friends or the ultimate family vacation.”

Spirit already operates 10 flights per day to six cities from Atlantic City.

Though the new deal misses this year’s Mardi Gras start day — February 13 — you can plan ahead for the 2019 festival, which begins in March next year.
