Hey college students: BizPhilly is looking for a smart, energetic, hard-working intern for the fall semester. The winning candidate will write high-quality articles for the web and print, execute our social media strategy, take photos and scour the web for Philly business news. You’ll report on the city’s budding tech and startup scene and interview the people driving Philly’s growing economy.

BizPhilly was launched just four months ago and is quickly becoming a go-to destination for Philly business news. It’s kind of like a startup — with a fun, collegial culture that should include more than a few games of darts or foosball.

This is not a “get-me-coffee” internship. (In fact, I’ll probably get you coffee from time to time.) This is a chance to get published in a major magazine and learn what it’s like behind the scenes. Our interns receive intensive training in both print and digital media. Typical duties include reporting articles for both the website and magazine, posting content to social media, researching and fact-checking articles, updating online content and writing event listings. Interns have daily interaction with our editorial staff and the many facets of the publishing industry.

We request a minimum of 20 hours per week over three days in the office during spring and fall internships and 30 hours per week over four days during summer internships. Internships are unpaid and must be used to receive academic credit. Interns must be enrolled at a postsecondary academic institution; high school students and college freshman are not eligible to apply.
