NYSE Suddenly Stops Trading

A technical problem is stifling the stock market.

The New York Stock Exchange has temporarily suspended trading in all symbols. All open orders will be cancelled. It released the following on Twitter:

CNBC caught up with Art Cashin, director of floor operations at the NYSE who said: “It’s been a little bit of a bumpy day. We had some technical problems even before the opening.”

It comes just hours after United Airlines faced a serious technical problem that grounded flights worldwide.
