The Eagles will not be without Darren Sproles for long.

“He’s got an MCL sprain,” said Chip Kelly. “We’ll see how long it’s going to be. Could be a week or two. Could be back after…we have a week off, so he’ll get treatment and we’ll assess him when we get back next Tuesday.”

The injury occurred in the third quarter against the Giants on a four-yard run off the left tackle. Sproles’ left leg got stuck behind him as defensive tackle Markus Kuhn wrangled him to the ground. He was able to walk off on his own but was sent to the locker room after a brief examination by trainers on the sideline.

Lane Johnson labeled the takedown as a “cheap-shot kind of deal” and expressed concern that Sproles sustained a long-term injury, but the MRI showed no significant damage.

The Eagles have a bye this week. Kelly did not commit to Sproles playing on October 26 in Arizona. Regardless, the head coach said he has no plans to make a roster move at the moment.

Chris Polk (hamstring) was sidelined against New York. Trey Burton got some carries down the stretch to spell LeSean McCoy.
