Samosas at Sabzi Mandi
This isn’t even a restaurant, just a small Indian grocery store. And the only freshly cooked food they sell just happens to be better samosas than any we’ve had at any Indian restaurant in these parts. (And we’ve been to many!) Cooked by an Indian woman who lives around the corner, these aren’t mini samosas. They are full-size and absolutely packed with vegetables and spices and thoroughly suffice as a hearty snack. In a pinch, two would be lunch. Added bonus: They sell for only $1.50. That’s not a misprint. Insider tip: Call by noon if you want them to set some aside for you — they sell out quickly.
