Suerim Lee doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, and Seaforest Bakeshop is better for it. At her Korean-inspired bakery, the pastry case brims with sesame cookies, doenjang caramel rolls, and sugar-dusted apple cider doughnuts. One savory standout is the gochujang-scallion roll, pinwheeled with fermented red chilis and scallions. It’s rich, layered, just a touch sweet — and proof that sugar isn’t the only path to pastry greatness.
