Considering how often you’re asked to close your eyes in yoga class, it almost would make more sense if more yoga classes took place in the dark. At Yoga Hive — South Philly’s new yoga studio, opening officially today, July 19 — you’ll be able to do just that. On August 18, the studio will host a glow-in-the-dark yoga class.

At this special event, Yoga Hive will supply the glow-in-the-dark necklaces and bracelets and body paint, so you can get decked out before class. Once you’re coated in glow, you’ll be ready to flow under the black lights to the sound of tribal beats music. Afterwards, Ketel One will be supplying some specialty glow-in-the-dark cocktails for all attendees to keep the party vibes going.

This class is just one of the fun pop-ups Yoga Hive has announced thus far — they’ve also hosted goat yoga and have plans for broga — and the owners intend to have catchy, themed workouts like this one on the calendar on a regular basis.

Glow-ga is scheduled for August 18 at 8 p.m. at Yoga Hive, 1914 East Passyunk Avenue. You can BYO mat or rent one for $2 at the studio. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
