This weekend, the Philly Distance Runners (they were the ones behind that sweet Philly Jawn run last month) are putting on a 12-mile run through the River Wards section of the city, taking runners from Franklin Square up through Fishtown, Port Richmond and Bridesburg. How’s that for a change of scenery from your weekend long run along Kelly Drive?

After pounding the pavement for 12 miles, you will get quite the reward: The run will end at Front Street Cafe, where folks can get brunch. Green pancakes, anyone? Because they’ve got ‘em.

Runners will meet at Franklin Square at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The group run is free to join in on but you’re responsible for your brunch bill. You can find more info, see the full route, and RSVP here.
