This Group Run Will Take You to All the Iconic Philly Running Spots

You'll hit all the greats on this run: the Ben Franklin Bridge, Kelly Drive, the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk, and more.

The Philly Distance Runners, a new running group that meets at Franklin Square every other Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., is putting on the Philly Jawn run next Saturday, January 30th. What is this Philly Jawn run, you ask? Well, it’s a 12.5-mile group run around Philly that will hit a good chunk of Philly’s iconic (and oh-so-Instagram-worthy) running spots: the Ben Franklin Bridge, Kelly Drive, the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk, Washington Avenue, the Delaware River, and more. Ah-mazing, right?

A little bit about the Philly Distance Runners: As the description on their Facebook group says, “The idea of this group is so that no one has to run long distances alone … Each run will be different from the last and the mileage will range from 10 to 20 miles. These runs will be ‘fun runs’ and ‘fat ass’ runs please bring fuel and hydration, or cash to grab stuff along the way!” Soft pretzels seems a fitting fuel stop for the Philly Jawn run, don’t you think?

The run, like Philly Distance Runners’s other runs, will leave from Franklin Square at 6th and Race streets at 8:30 a.m. on the 30th. And, as the Facebook event page says, “all paces are welcome and fun will be had.” You can find out more and RSVP here.
