So Awesome: Sunrise Run Over the Ben Franklin Bridge This Weekend

Prepare yourself for a killer Instagram opportunity: This weekend, a group of local runners and athletes are gathering for the second annual (I had no idea there was a first annual!) sunrise run over the Ben Franklin Bridge.

The event is organized by local runner/CrossFitter Theresa Keenan. She started it last year, she says, with folks from CrossFit 267 in Feasterville as a way to help her to get over her fear of heights: “What better way than to grab a group of friends and run the Ben?”

They’ll be at it again this Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m., and you can meet up with them at the foot of the bridge on the Philly side. (The entrance to the passenger walkway is at 5th and Race streets.) The sun rises at 6:44, and since you’ll be running toward it, you won’t miss a second. The group will run over the bridge and back (it’s just under three miles total), then head out for a post-run breakfast.

Keenan will also be collecting canned goods to donate to Interfaith Food Cupboard in Abington, so feel free to clean out your pantry, too. All the info and RSVP details are over here.
