Beer plus running equals a good Thursday evening in my book. If you’re on the same page, get ready to mark your calendar: This Thursday, May 21st, Run215 is teaming up with Philly Beer Week to lead the Hammer of Glory Run and Bar Crawl, a free not-quite-5K run involving beer, cheese and and bar hopping.

Here’s the deal: Folks will meet at Di Bruno Brothers at the Franklin (834 Chestnut Street) at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday to get a taste of Philly Beer Week’s official beer, brilliantly named Leuven on a Prayer, paired with some Di Bruno’s cheese. Then, runners will pound the pavement with Philly Beer Week’s Hammer of Glory on the almost-5K to Fishtown’s Sancho Pistola’s. Once there, plenty of bar hopping will follow, with stops at Frankford Hall, Heritage, Jerry’s Bar and Johnny Brenda’s throughout the night.

The run is free to join; just make sure to register here. And if you can’t make it to the run, you’re also welcome to just join in on the bar-hopping portion of the evening. We won’t tell anyone — promise.
