Chestnut Hill running store Indigo Schuy is hosting a memorial run this weekend for Richmond, Virginia, runner Meg Menzies, who was killed by a drunk driver on Monday while she was out for a morning run.

The Meg’s Miles run is part of a nationwide solidarity effort, with similar runs happening on Saturday in other cities around the country. So far, the effort has nearly 60,000 people signed on for the cause.

Runners are also being encouraged to tweet and post Instagram running photos on Saturday using the hashtag #megsmiles.

Local runners will meet at the Cedars House (at the northern tip of Wissahickon Park on Forbidden Drive) at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.
