Psst … you. Yes, you. In case you haven’t heard, the Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic will be taking place this Sunday. It’s kind of a big deal. Over 180 pro cyclists from around the world will race along the 12-mile circuit course running alongside the Schuylkill River. If I’ve convinced you to check it out (and hopefully I have), and now you’re trying to think of the perfect spot to catch a glimpse of the peloton, then look no further than East Falls.

Residents there mean business when it comes to celebrating an event of this magnitude. The block party will be set up along two riverfront blocks (a.k.a prime-viewing territory) on Midvale Avenue at Kelly Drive. There will be plenty of live music, food trucks and kid-friendly activities. The block party will also have a trolley bus to transport people to and from the festivities. For more info, feel free to look at the flyer here.

FREE, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 2nd, Midvale Avenue at Kelly Drive, Philadelphia. Other important times: the women’s race starts at 8:30 a.m. and the men’s race starts at noon.
