Honeygrow and CrossFit Coming to the Main Line
The Main Line’s getting some new faces—well, places—very soon. This Saturday, the new CrossFit Main Line officially opens for business in Ardmore, under the ownership of husband-and-wife CrossFit coaches Daniel Davidson, a Wake Forest alum, and Merrilee Davidson, who’s also a yoga teacher. The studio’s schedule includes CrossFit’s signature W.O.D.’s (workout of the day sessions), as well as a CrossFit Kids program and Vinyasa yoga. There will also be open gym time for members to work on skills at their own pace.
The gym measures about 5,000-square-feet and features on-site babysitting and showers. According to the website, the Davidsons are already planning a second location in Wayne: CrossFit R5. No official word on when R5 will open, but a counter on the website puts it at two-and-a-half months.
Down the road in Bala Cynwyd, the Main Line’s first Honeygrow outpost is slated to open within the next few months. (I drove by a few weeks ago, and the space only looked about half finished.) It’s part of the retail addition to the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center on City Avenue. The stir fry-and-salad spot’s first location near Rittenhouse Square has been a huge hit with Center City lunchers since it opened earlier this summer. Eater surmises that if this location is as popular as the flagship, owner Justin Rosenberg could have the makings of a successful local chain on his hands.
