5 Most Fashionable ALS Ice Bucket Challenges

Because only a choice few wear Alaïa while getting doused with water.

The philanthropic Ice Bucket Challenge has taken off, raising nearly $23 million for ALS research. It has its detractors and its supporters, and you can’t log onto Facebook or check your Twitter feed without seeing someone—a friend, a coworker, a celebrity—getting a bucket of cold water splashed over his or her head. But only a few of these charitable folks get soaked while wearing designer clothes.

Here are some of our favorite fashion-forward Ice Bucket Challenge moments, from Anna Wintour’s soggy bob (finally!) to Diane Von Furstenberg’s extremely posh challenge (it’s on a yacht, obviously).

Diane Von Furstenberg
Girlfriend did hers on a freaking yacht.

Burberry
The team represented the brand by wearing its four-figure trenchcoats while getting doused.

Marigay McKee
The president of Saks Fifth Avenue wore a prohibitively expensive Azzedine Alaïa dress for her challenge.

Behati Prinsloo
The model (and Adam Levine’s way-better half) wore a cool model-off-duty look with ’90s flair. Check out the choker!

Anna Wintour
Anna wore an adorable sundress that surely cost forty thousand dollars and was sewn with threads of gold by the white-gloved hands of tiny angels.
