Curtis Harding @ Trocadero | Wednesday, December 7
Soul singer Curtis Harding only released his debut album, Soul Power, a couple of years ago, but his throwback sound will convince you he’s been making hits since the ’70s. Philly rockers The Whips open the show, which is upstairs on the Troc’s Balcony.

Jingle Ball @ Wells Fargo Center | Wednesday, December 7
Philly’s own Diplo is in the lineup for the annual pop star holiday concert, presented by Q102. Also on the bill: Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, Ellie Goulding, DNCE, Charlie Puth, Tove Lo, Alessia Cara and Lukas Graham.

Reverend Horton Heat @ TLA | Thursday, December 8
Is “hardcore rockabilly” a genre? Jim Heath, a.k.a. Reverend Horton Heat, plays TLA, with Unknown Hinson, Nashville P—y, Lucky Tubb and the Modern Day Troubadors.

The Bouncing Souls @ Union Transfer | Saturday, December 10
Jersey punk band Bouncing Souls have been around since 1989 and still tour with three of the four original members. The “pop-punk forbearers,” as Spin called them, released their 10th studio album, Simplicity, this past summer.

Holiday Doo Wop @ Keswick Theatre | Saturday, December 10
Journey back to the days of doo-wop with the Duprees, Jay Siegel’s Tokens, Brian Hyland, the Mystics, the Fireflies, and Lenny Dell & The Demensions.

The Roddenberries @ Ardmore Music Hall | Sunday, December 11
This unusual Philly-based band does a rock/Star Trek mash-up — “a unique mind-melding of rock-n-roll cabaret and parody.” They’re bringing their Holidays Spocktacular show to the Ardmore Music Hall, accompanied by dancers from the Peekaboo Revue.
