Shop Sixty Five Opens in Gladwyne Down the Road From Richie Ashburn’s Grave

Over at Shoppist, there’s good news for stylish aficionados of Doylestown’s popular Shop Sixty Five. The boutique will open a new 1,500-square-foot location in Gladwyne at 342 Righters Mill Road, a street that’s been the subject of some real estate controversy.

At 320 Righters Mill, an abandoned church and Odd Fellows Hall was targeted for condo and parking-lot development by Main Line Realty. That plan was deeply upsetting to Richie Ashburn’s widow, Herbie, given that Ashburn and other of his family members are buried in the church cemetery. Turns out, there are also Revolutionary War veterans buried there as well. The ideal customer at the new Shop Sixty Five? A fashionable baseball fan with an interest in American history.
