Taney Dragons Rally to Win in Final Inning

Taney won its second straight game in the Little League World Series with a dramatic, 2-out comeback in the sixth inning.

The Taney Dragons are just one win away from the United States championship game after a dramatic victory Sunday night.

In the team’s second game in the 2014 Little League World Series, Taney scored 2 runs in the bottom of the final inning to defeat Pearland East of Texas, 7-6. Down a run with two outs in the sixth, Zion Spearman tied it with a triple. He then scored on a Texas throwing error after Tai Shanahan hit a grounder to short.

Scott Bandura led off the sixth inning with a bunt single, then scored on Spearman’s triple.

More than 32,000 fans were on hand to watch the Taney team on Sunday night.

The Dragons play Mountain Ridge of Las Vegas on Wednesday. The winner gets a berth in the U.S. championship game. Mo’ne Davis will be on the mound.
