Philly’s Best Rooftop Bar Is Back Next Week

And they're serving up dollar dumplings.

Bok Bar

Trendy rooftop spot Bok Bar, perched eight stories high atop the former Bok Tech building at 8th and Mifflin Streets, reopens for for a third season on Thursday, May 25 — and they’ll be serving up dumplings and a slew of pop-up dinners all summer long.

Bok owner Lindsey Scannapieco has snagged bar manager-turned-dumpling-maker Hayden Mink to run foodservice at the bar as Humble Dumplings. Mink will serve up rice bowls and pork and veggie dumplings, as well as crisp, tender scallion pancakes, a dim sum staple, folded and filled with pork belly and pickles — “very yummy and a bit different,” Scannapieco says.

She’s also planning several one-off food events, like a midsummer feast in the form of a ticketed dinner with Noord’s Joncarl Lachman, Fond’s Lee Styer, and Josh Lawler of Farm & Fisherman — Scannapieco describes it as “a Nordic feast featuring aquavit, lots of fish and salad, a maypole and flower crowns.”

Check out the full Humble Dumplings menu, and visit Bok Bar Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., Fridays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sundays — family day, when dogs and children are welcome — from 12 p.m to 10 p.m. starting May 25.
