Life Time Announces Soon-to-Open Ardmore Location Will Feature a Co-Working Space

Hint: It has nothing to do with fitness.

Life Time — the Minneapolis-based company that currently has three sprawling fitness centers in the Philly area, with a fourth slated to open in Ardmore in early 2018 — just made an unexpected announcement. The 80,000-square-foot Ardmore location will feature a new concept for the company: Life Time Work, a 15,000-square-foot co-working space that will be housed on the fourth floor of the building.

As the folks from Life Time told Bisnow, Life Time Work will run like most co-working spaces: They’ll lease out open desks and private offices with access to conference rooms and business services. Oh! And members get access to the fancy-shmancy gym housing the floors under their desks. “The model we’re envisioning now is that you’re signing up for a Life Time Work subscription, and with that comes a Life Time fitness membership,” Life Time Vice President of Corporate Communications Jason Thunstrom told Bisnow.

The idea of integrating sweat sessions with desk time seems to be growing: City Fitness’s newly opened Center City location features a co-working space, and WeWork recently debuted their dive into the fitness realm. We’re still waiting on gyms to realize that blow-dry bars are a necessary pairing too, though.
