YESSS: Lululemon Is Bringing Their New Local Concept Store to Fishtown

Lululemon’s Fishtown Local will serve as both a store and a community fitness and wellness hub.

BIG news, Lululemon lovers: The folks over at Lululemon just gave us some sweet details on the new store they’re bringing to Philly. And this isn’t just any ol’ Lululemon store. This store — which will be opening at Fishtown’s 1424-32 Frankford Avenue, right next door to the soon-to-open City Fitness — will be the fourth of their Lululemon ‘Local’ concept stores in the country.

So … what does that mean? Good question. As the folks over at Lululemon tell us, “The Fishtown Local will be a community hub and retail space of lululemon’s technical clothes for yoga, running and working out.” People can expect “relevant, vibrant events and programming that will be authentic to Fishtown,” focusing on sweat, personal development and relationships. So it’s part store, part meeting place for Fishtown’s fitness and wellness community. The only other Lululemon Local concept stores in the country are in Fort Collins, Colorado, Bend, Oregon and Sun Valley, Idaho.

And sticking with the whole local theme, the product assortment will be specific to Fishtown locals. As a Fishtown resident, I’m thinking leggings conducive to coffee shop-hopping and darting across the endlessly frustrating stoplight-free stretch of Frankford Avenue?

Lululemon’s Fishtown Local is slated to open at the end of November, but you can get more of a feel for what to expect at their pop-up shop coming up at La Colombe’s Fishtown location this weekend, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
