Here’s your chance to pound the pavement with the guy who literally wrote the book on running: Christopher McDougall, bestselling author of Born to Run, is coming to Philly on Thursday, April 23rd for a fun run followed by a shindig at the Penn Museum to celebrate his new book, Natural Born Heroes: How a Daring Band of Misfits Mastered the Lost Secrets of Strength and Endurance.

The 40-minute fun run will kick off at 5 p.m., and it’s free and open to everyone. While the starting location has yet to be determined, I’m told it will definitely be somewhere in University City. The run will end at the Penn Museum, where a “cabaret-style event,” as it’s being described, will be held.

And runners, prepare to be dazzled by this show: There will be knife-throwing (by trained professionals, of course), Parkour-leaping and Wild Fitness-ing (that’s a real thing), along with speakers and a book signing. Tickets for that will run you $35, and the ticket price includes a copy of McDougall’s new book. You can get yours here.
