UPDATE 4:14 p.m.: Remember how earlier this morning the Broad Street Run said it would be issuing a “major announcement” pertaining to this year’s race on its website sometime this afternoon? Well, here it is: NBC10 and Telemundo have announced they will broadcast the May 3rd race on TV. This is the first time in the race’s 36-year history that the Broad Street Run will be aired on television in its entirety. While the move is being hailed as an exciting opportunity for Philadelphians to “root for their friends from their couch,” we hope you’ll, um, still go out and cheer for the runners in person. Because really, you guys, you just can’t beat those funny signs.

……..

ORIGINAL: Check your email, runners: The Broad Street Run lottery winners were announced earlier this morning, with emails sent to those chosen for the race just after 5 a.m. Winners’ credit cards were also charged the $43 entry fee as of today. The race is capped at 40,000 runners.

If you’re unsure whether or not you made it in — perhaps you never received the email? — be sure to check your spam filters. Otherwise, the race has provided an online directory of the winners. You can search your name here to see if you made it in.

Interestingly, in their email to winners this morning, organizers also teased a big announcement they’ll release this afternoon: “Please be sure to check out the News & Announcements section of our website on Tuesday afternoon, February 17th for a major announcement relating to the 2015 race,” the email stated. So, you know what we’ll be doing this afternoon.

Stay tuned for more. Until then, get started on your Broad Street Run training by checking out our go-to guide.

Pssst! If you didn’t get into the race, you can still sign up to run for one of the official charity partners. More on that here.
